"One Battle After Another"
Not for me to comment
Director Paul Thomas Anderson never misses with beautiful shots, great performances, and wonderful music. One Battle After Another is no exception. It was technically amazing, with all the hallmarks of a masterpiece.
However, its treatment of People of Color makes it difficult to appreciate. For this reason, I will abstain from reviewing the movie. It does not feel right to talk about the movie without its racial dynamics, but I do not feel equipped to address those dynamics as an incredibly privileged white woman.
Instead, I will recommend this podcast episode where they tackle the issue in a more nuanced and experienced way than I ever could.
